محرم Muharram

The Holy Quran : At-Tawba Verse 36
The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the straight usage. So wrong not yourselves therein, and fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

Muharram

The day when Allah helped Musa (as) lead
His people whom the Pharaoh reluctantly freed
From bondage and tyranny, slavery and injustice
Towards a new life of freedom and peace

It is unfortunately today remembered for the wrong reason
When to treachery fell our Prophet’s grandson
When a brother fought another and denied him even water
The ground turned red as one brother hacked another

Let us take a lesson from that great blunder
And remember that the Devil split asunder
The brotherhood of Islam and created a schism
On one stood the Sunni and other supporters of ‘Shiaism’

All based on an empty idea, a conjecture
Without a basis in the Quran, the divine literature
So remember that we too can loose sight
Due to indulgence in dogma and get into a fight

Let us live as one Ummah as Allah has decreed
Without breaking up into many a creed
To peace and harmony lack of knowledge is the fetter
So let us understand the Quraan and Sunnah better

Let us pledge now to stand firm under any stress
Let us be open to ideas and cultivate deliberateness
Remember that we are one as the Almighty is One
That with forgiveness and tolerance everything is won

Ibrahim (as) - A Short Message

The Holy Quran : Chapter 6 Verse 162

Say: "Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds"

Welcome Home ‘Hajee’

You answered the call of Hazrat Ibrahim
To honor and to please HIM
When he made the call years ago
Your soul had replied with gusto

Did you see the source of ‘Aabe Zam Zam’?
Experience the ecstasy of being in the ‘hrrum’
And greet Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi WaSallam?
My envy does not allow this line or rhyme

I hope you were successful in your pilgrimage
And you stoned the devil with all courage
Sacrificed the lamb as is due
Shed the past and became a new you

I hope your efforts have pleased the Almighty
And that HE rewards you in plenty
I pray that he is truly ‘razee’
On your being called a ‘Hajee’

Effect's Of Sin

Whatever harm and hardship has befallen the people in their wealth or security, individuals or societies is due to their sins and their having neglected the commands of Allah (swt) and his prescribed laws, and their seeking judgment amongst the people by other than the prescribed laws of Allah (swt) – who created all of creation and is the most merciful to them than their mothers and fathers, and he is the One who knows better than themselves what is most beneficial for them.

Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, say in His Book, so that we may realize and take warning, He, the Majestic and Most High, says :

The Holy Quran:
Ash-Shoora(Councel, Consultation) – 42:30
"Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness."

And He, the Most High says:

An-Nisaa’(Women) – 4:79
"Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah. but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. and We have sent thee as an apostle to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness."

Many people today attribute the misfortunes which befall them, whether relating to wealth and economics, or security are due to materialistic causes, this is due to their limited understanding and weakness of their Eemaan and their failure to reflect upon the Book of Allah (swt) and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammed (saw).

Biography Of Prophet Muhammed SAW

Why must we study Seerah (Biography Of Prophet Muhammed saw)?

Studying the life of Prophet Muhammad [sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam] is like studying history of Islam.

To develop the proper love of Rasul Allah [sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam] in our hearts

Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran [9:24]:
Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight - are dearer to you than Allah, or His Messenger, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious.

To follow the way of the Rasul Allah [sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam]

Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran [3:31]:

Say (O Muhammad): "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Rasul Allah [sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam] was a political leader, a military leader, an imam, a husband, a father, a neighbour, a teacher....his life provides an example for all aspects of our lives, whatever place we are in, in whatever times

To help understand the Quran

His life illustrates the methodological steps of the Islamic Movement

Studying seerah is ibadah

Studying seerah is essential for helping us develop an Islamic identity and character

Life of Rasul Allah [sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam] is a testimony of his Prophethood

The Fitnah Of Shaytan

When ever we read The Holy Quran, its important to say “Auzu billahi mina’sh-shaytani’r-rajim” (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan), have we ever understood why The Quran is started that way.

Why is that The Holy Quran keep telling us that SHAYTAN is our open ENEMY.

"SHAYTAN", Who is he ?
Who are all the SHAYTAN ?
How does SHAYTAN misleads ?
What are the weapons of SHAYTAN ?
What are the Fitnah Of SHAYTAN ?

Why did SHAYTAN take oath that he will mislead Mankind?

Eid ul-Fitr

Alhamdulillah! For the bountiful month of ‘Saum’
When we give up food, comfort and ‘naum’
Alhamdulillah! For helping us practice abstinence
And to learn the art of patience
We were all blessed this year by Allah’s grace
To strengthen our Iman and mend our ways

                 Kids as young as four
Defy thirst for 12 hours or more
Men and women, young and old
Learn to break the devil’s stranglehold
By keeping the impulses in check with a smile
Growing in piety and closeness to Allah meanwhile

But alas! All good things must come to an end
For the next month is round the bend
For another Ramadan with the family let’s pray
Till then to vice and weakness let’s not fall prey
And our Takwah should be strong and clear
For the rest of the year

Let us pray for those who could not
Reap the bounties of ‘Saum’. Who gathered naught
Of Allah’s blessings available in abundance
Available to those who practiced abstinence
May Allah accept our humble ‘ibaadah’
                 Our ‘tilawah’, ‘zakath’ and ‘sadakah’

So to Ramadan I bid a helpless farewell
With a hope that we all fared well
In this brief test that Allah put us through
Seeking an excuse to reward the simplest virtue
We cannot claim to be worthy of justice or just measure
We are blessed by Allah’s Grace and Pleasure

Ungrateful

The Holy Quran
AL-QALAM (THE PEN)
Chapter 68 : 17 & 18

17 Surely We will try them as We tried the owners of the garden, when they swore that they would certainly cut off the produce in the morning,
18 And were not willing to set aside a portion (for the poor).

لیلة القدر - Lailatul Qadar - The Night Of Power

The Holy Quran Al-Qadr Chapter 97 Verse 1 to 5) We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: And what will explain to thee what the night of power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah.s permission, on every errand: Peace!...This until the rise of morn! Dua Of The Prophet During Lailatul Qadar. اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي "Allahumma innaka 'affuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni' " "O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me" Lailat al Qadr is a good time to ask for forgiveness. Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven. Hadith, Bukhari Vol 1, Book 2:34

Zakat

Zakāh or "alms giving", one of the Five Pillars of Islam, is the giving of a small percentage of one's possessions (surplus wealth) to charity generally to poor and needy individuals. The word Zakat means both 'purification' and 'growth'. Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth. Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people. The Holy Quran At-Tawba (Repentance, Dispensation) Chapter 9 Verse 60 Alms are for the poor and the needy, and those employed to administer the (funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to Truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah. and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. Verse 34 And 35 O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and anchorites, who in Falsehood devour the substance of men and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah. announce unto them a most grievous penalty. On the Day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, their flanks, and their backs.- "This is the (treasure) which ye buried for yourselves: taste ye, then, the (treasures) ye buried!"

Ramadhan

"O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may acquire (Taqwah)"

"Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong)."
Surah Al Baqara : 183 & 185

The prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said " When the month of Ramazan starts the gates of the heaven are opened and gates of the hell are closed & devils are chained.
(Sahih Al Bukhari)

Who is close to Allah swt?

A Believer should lead his life in two ways, one Giving Thanks To Allah and other to be patient.

When Allah swt showers his favor on a believer he should Thank (Shookur) Allah swt for the favors, and when there is a test from Allah swt then he should be patient

There are very few people who thank (Shookur) Allah, lets be one among the few who thank Allah swt and become close to him in this Holy month Ramadhan

Shookur - Thanking

Its very important to Thank Allah swt for the favors he bestows on us.
Allah swt say
“And verily We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Give thanks unto Allah; and whosoever giveth thanks, he giveth thanks for (the good of) his soul. And whosoever refuseth - Lo! Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.”
The Holy Quran
Luqman (Chapter 31 Verse 12)
Thanking Allah swt and Thanking the person who did a favor or a good act is also very important.
As Prophet Muhammed saw said :
'Whoever does not thank people (for their favors) has not thanked Allah (properly), Mighty and Glorious is He!' (At-Tirmidhî)
So brothers and sister, Thanking is a very important act and it’s also a part of worship, lets learn how to Thank Allah swt.

The Repentance - Tauba

It is not surprising to see Man committing SIN, but it is surprising to see him repeating the same SIN and it’s more surprising to see him not repent for it.
That’s the reason Allah swt calls mankind to ask for forgiveness, as he is Most Merciful and oft forgiving.
So brothers and sisters lets repent for our sins with fear and sincerity in this blessed month.
For more listen to the sermon The Repentance - Tauba
Allah swt Say In The Holy Quran,
Say (O Muhammed pbhu): "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah. whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.

Importance of Supplication (Dua)

What is Supplication Dua???
Literally the word Supplication (Dua) means “to call upon.”
In Islam Dua or supplication means to address Allah (SWT) with praise, thanksgiving, hope, and to mention one’s needs.
Dua is an important part of our faith and belief. It is a higher form of worship that Allah loves. It is a means of keeping in touch with the Creator, and draws the supplicant closer to the Almighty. It causes increase in bounties and helps remove pain and suffering. There are many ways that people make Dua.
Dua in one’s own words, depending upon need or situation.
It may be based upon verses of Qur’an. Quran has many Duas.
It may be very spontaneous or may be well thought over (Duas make my prophets).
In Islam Dua has a very special place. Allah (SWT) has commanded in Quran that we make Dua to Him.
Benefits Of Making Dua.
  • It increases the faith of the supplicant on Allah (SWT).
  • It gives hope and the strength to the distressed soul, and saves from despair.
  • It brings the supplicant closer to the Creator, strengthening the bond between them.
  • It increases humility, which in turn increases piety.
  • It curbs ego and vanity
This friday Sermon presents us the information from the Qur’an, the Hadiths of the prophets(pbuta).
Come, let us try to understand the importance of (Dua).

Importance Of Time

No human being denies the “Importance of Time”.

Ø It is been ordered to Perform our Prayers (Namaz) 5 times a day at a fixed Time without fail.

Ø With regards to fasting (Sawm), it is been ordered to start Suhur (Pre-Dawn Meal), and end iftar (Fast-Breaking Meal) at a prescribed Time.

Ø While performing Hajj, the rituals are performed at a fixed Time.

The above noted points clearly illustrate the “Importance Of Time”.

If Time is lost, it is lost forever.

Time doesn’t stop nor wait’s for a Rich Man

Time doesn’t stop nor wait’s for a Poor Man

Time doesn’t stop nor wait’s for a King

Time doesn’t stop nor wait’s for a Beggar

Come let us find out why Allah (swt) has taken oath on Time……….

Importance Of Education

One of the causes of uplift and downfall of Muslims, is backwardness in Education. Even though the first revelation from Allah(SWT) to Ummath-e-Mohammeddia was IQRA, READ and secure Knowledge. But it is regretted that the Ummath which was ordered to secure knowledge, has lost the value of it.

People who have secured education are also not matching the accord of current requirements, the reason for this is that we have wrongly presented education system (religious and worldly).

The outcome of presenting the education system wrongly, has resulted for those who get educated in religious school (Madarsa) to became backward, this is because they are far away from the current education (Secular) trends.

For those who have secured big degrees in colleges and universities have failed in learning the religious education completely, this failure of not securing the religious education have made them so ignorant that, they even don’t know how to raise their hands in prayer in favor of their parents.

Therefore it is relevant to know and think what is the meaning and the main purpose of learning.

To know the importance of education as emphasized in the Holy Quran and Hadith, please listen to the lecture (The Importance Of Education) which is been uploaded for your perusal and please reflect on where we have lacked behind.

Duties Towards Parents

A child is a gift, security and support to the old parents. Nowadays parents have grievance towards their children, that they are not taking care of them, inspite of the parents having sacrificed their hunger, thirst, sleep and rest when they took care of their children when they were infants. The parents are with the hope that the children will support them in their old age.

Come, let us peep deeply into this matter, how the parents have lost hope on their own children. Even though parents consider their children as an “apple of their eyes,” but still parents are loosing their peace of mind on account of their children. (Listen to the Lecture)

Rights Of Parents In Islam

The position of parent, and the mutual obligations and responsibilities, have been addressed in Islam in great detail. The Quranic commandments, as well as the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), guide us in this matter. The parent-child code of behavior in Islam is unique, since rules were laid down by divine command.

The Holy Quran Al-Isra Chapter 17 Verse 23 & 24

23. Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.

24. And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood."
